POPULATION STATISTICS
Marble Falls, located in Burnet County, Texas, is not a part of the Austin or San Antonio
Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSA). However, both the Austin and San Antonio areas are
growing rapidly and expanding northwest and northeast towards Marble Falls.
Elementary and Secondary
Flatrock Springs is within the Marble Falls I.S.D. with 3,700 students in K-12
grades. There are several private, parochial schools in the area offering pre-school
through high school. Nearly 83% of the area's population are high school graduates,
and nearly 22% of the region's adult population holds a bachelor's degree or higher.
Central Texas College (CTC) and Texas Tech University (TTU) host a collaborative college
campus in Marble Falls leading to bachelor's and master's degrees in general
studies. CTC offers basic first and second year community college level coursework for the
first two years, and Texas Tech University offers third and fourth year level coursework
leading to a bachelor's degree. Texas Tech University-Highland Lakes in Marble Falls is
part of the Texas Hill Country University Consortium that offers degrees through several
universities at facilities in selected Hill Country communities.
Nearby in Austin, the University of Texas offers complete course offerings in numerous
disciplines, and in San Antonio, the University of Texas at San Antonio is also available
for higher education requirements.
HEALTH
CARE
There are currently two community hospitals serving the region. Seton Highland Lakes
Medical Center is located in the City of Burnet, approximately 19-miles from Flatrock
Springs. Llano Memorial Hospital is located in the City of Llano, approximately
30-miles from Flatrock Springs. It is anticipated that the regional hospital planned
for the Crossroads Regional Medical Campus will not adversely impact those hospitals.
Rather it is expected to dramatically increase the quality of healthcare throughout
the entire region.
Marble Falls Area EMS provides emergency response services and a critical care helicopter
is co-located with Marble Falls EMS for service into Austin and San Antonio.

Springs is currently located in the ETJ of the City of Marble Falls. Marble Falls is
a "Home-Rule" city with a council-manager form of city government. There
are six elected city council members and an elected mayor. The council appoints a city
manager who is the chief administrative officer, and manages the affairs of the city on a
daily basis.
